Traci Barrientos has been married to her husband, Sal, for twenty-five years and is a mother to four successful homeschool graduates, two of whom are recent college graduates and two are currently pursuing degrees. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Reading Education from Saint Mary’s University of San Antonio, TX in 1994. She holds teacher certifications in multiple areas for grades K-12. She is the president of the Dyslexic Coalition of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and a member of the International Dyslexic Association. Currently, she is pursuing her Master’s degree in Dyslexic Therapy at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She is an education consultant with Winsor Learning and a representative for Total Language Plus, assisting parents with designing a language arts program for their homeschooled children. She understands firsthand the difficult challenges that accompany teaching a child with reading disabilities, especially in a home school environment. Traci is passionate about helping home educators learn successful strategies to reach their reading goal[s].
