Sarah Gewanter, MSSW, Director, has over 30 years of experience working families with special needs, especially Autism Spectrum Disorders. She received her graduate social workers degree at Columbia University in 1981. She has been on faculty at Columbia Univ. School of Social Work. In 1993, she was trained and certified as a Berard AIT practitioner. Ms. Gewanter is the Director of The Counseling Center located in the Asheville area of NC. She is an official trainer for the Auditory Integration Training-International Practitioners Forum and brings a special ability, warmth and sensitivity to the children and families who come to her for help.
