Homeschool convention season is underway and many of you are making preparations to attend our upcoming Southeast Homeschool Expo. We can’t wait to see you and are looking forward to bringing you an amazing Expo!
If you have never attended a convention before here are a few reasons why you may want to consider coming this year! If you are a seasoned homeschooler you may think we have nothing to offer, but we do! Even seasoned homeschoolers can benefit from encouragement and an opportunity to meet with vendors.
Before you attend our homeschool expo you may wonder what you can do to prepare. Here are three ways to prepare for a homeschool expo!
Check out the Schedule
All conventions will have a schedule of events. This will tell you when the exhibit hall is open, what workshops are offered, and when the convention will shut down for the night. This is important because you will want to know how to plan your day while at the homeschool expo.
Check out the Vendors
Many homeschool conventions (including ours!) have a HUGE exhibit hall. This is where much of the action is at. The exhibit hall will house vendors offering a wide variety of resources such as curriculum, educational toys, books, amazing products and much more. Checking out the vendors will give you an idea to research what they are offering BEFORE coming to the convention and will let you know which vendors are high on your priority list. Many say they can spend one day alone just in the exhibit hall. So, knowing who will be there and where you want to go can help you plan your day while at the homeschool expo.
Look Over the Workshops
Many come to the homeschool expo just for the vendors, but they may miss the many workshops the expo has to offer. Whether you are a newbie or a seasoned homeschool you can find advice and encouragement in the many workshops our homeschool expo offers. Make plans to attend at least one workshop while attending the homeschool expo, although we’d love if you’d attend more!
As you make preparations to attend our homeschool expo remember to breathe. Yes, planning season is here, and yes you have a list of things you want to do, but don’t forget to enjoy the experience. We want you to come and enjoy yourself. Take some time to prepare, bring a friend and your list and spend some time with us at the upcoming Southeast Homeschool Expo.
