Nikki Wilson is an Occupational Therapist who earned her Master’s degree from New York University in 2001; she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences with minors in Chemistry and Social Work from Western Michigan University in 1997. She currently provides Occupational Therapy services through Dreamworks Children’s Therapy Network (Dreamworks), where she is the owner and operator. In 2017, Nikki launched her handwriting program Rhythm & Writing with the Get Write Crew (Rhythm & Writing), a fun, effective, and exciting handwriting program with a diverse musical group of animals who teach kids to write letters the RIGHT way, using rhymes, music, and video. There’s Hip Hop the Lyricist, Mo’ Rock on the drums, Big Country on the guitar, and Jazzy Faith who plays keyboards…..Kids LOVE it!!! Pilot programs were conducted in one kindergarten classroom during the 2017-2018 school year, and are currently being conducted in both one first grade and interrelated classroom; the program has proven effective, as ALL students who have and do participate consistently, demonstrate legibility improvement. Nikki has also conducted in-service presentations and lectured about the program, and the significance of incorporating music into classroom curriculums to Occupational Therapists, daycare providers, directors, and owners. Her goal is for Rhythm & Writing to become incorporated into curriculums throughout the WORLD!!!
