When Doug and Lisa Cherry began homeschooling over 26 years ago, they were quite nervous about their experiment. But now with 10 children ranging in age from 7 to 30, they are so glad they made the home schooling choice. Today they can confidently declare the experiment was a success! Five high school graduates, four high honors college graduates, two beautiful weddings, and five precious grand babies (so far) is great news. But even more thrilling to Doug and Lisa is knowing that all of their children are personally excited about serving the Lord.
Parenting a modern Christian family is not always easy. When their eldest daughter, Kalyn, was victimized by a sexual predator and fell into an extreme teen crisis, the Cherry’s world nearly fell apart. Even as dreams were dashed, God brought their family through the multi-year storm healed and whole. Today, Lisa speaks compassionately and boldly to today’s parents equipping them to navigate our tough cultural climate with wisdom, grace, courage, and love.
Lisa is a popular conference speaker, author, radio guest, and mentor who will have you crying one minute and laughing the next. She earned her bachelors in nursing and has authored numerous books and video curriculums for adults and teens including Unmask the Predators: The Battle to Protect your Child, Not Open: Win the Invisible Spiritual Culture War and Straight Talk on Sex: A Quiz for Parents and Teens.
