My name is Laurie Beachell. I’ve been a HomeWorks Consultant for about 7 yrs. and have been homeschooling for 10 yrs. Prior to homeschooling, I taught in a Christian school. I’ve taught elementary and high school. I have a daughter who is a junior in college, a son who is a sophomore in college, a son who is in 11th grade, and another son who is in 9th grade. In my first year of homeschooling, I did a myriad of different curriculums. Even though they were good curriculums, I wanted consistency across the board in every subject. I love that BJU Press homeschool curriculum is an excellent extension of our home!! My husband and I were already focused on giving our children a biblical worldview in everything, and we were already stressing critical thinking just in everyday conversations.
