John is the principal author and editor of the Breaking the Barrier series. Since 1981 John has taught Spanish in the Modern Language Department of the Groton School (MA). A graduate of Evanston Township High School and Amherst College, he earned his M.A. in Spanish Literature and Linguistics from the University of Wisconsin. John first fell in love with Spanish as a middle school student under the tutelage of his Sunday School teacher. Since then he has never looked back and has relished the ability to travel and connect with people of different cultures around the world. A devoted classroom teacher, an enthusiastic advocate for homeschool language learning, and a lively public speaker, John presents his acclaimed workshops to parents and educators from coast-to-coast.
