Cynthia has over fourteen years experience working as a speech-language pathologist in a variety of hospital, clinic and school settings. Seasons of homeschooling and teaching speech and reading to her own sons have given Cynthia an appreciation of what it means to be a teaching mom, not just a professional therapist. Her recent focus has been on helping children with a range of speech articulation issues. She has a passion for empowering parents to help their own children at home with speech and the prevention of reading difficulties. Towards that end she has piloted and published her first e-learning program, Step 1: Learning Letters & Sounds, the first installment in the Step Ahead to Better Speech & Reading Series. She is also developing resources to help parents teach R, L, and S, and other difficult speech sounds to their children.
